The Problem with Weather Forecasting

Published on April 23, 2007 | Culture
It is my favorite season. Some would say summer, hey there are even winter lovers out there, but spring wins it hands down for me. I look forward to it all winter. Those first few days of above 0 temperatures, the first signs that winter is coming to an end, nothing beats that feeling for me. I get into a good mood and as the days get warmer I get happier.

All my heroes are dead

Published on April 20, 2007 | Culture
Kurt Vonnegut has finally become unstuck in time. He passed away Apr. 11, and now I can truly say that all my heroes are dead. For those of you unaware of who this literary genius was, he was one of the greatest writers of the century.

Wiggers Live Dangerously

Published on April 4, 2007 | Culture
I talk to a lot of people each day. Many are what you would refer to as "wiggers." I know not a very nice term, but you know the type. Born and raised in a small city or town. Have seen a hand gun or shot one. Have no idea what a gang really is, yet will tell you that they will get their crew, and smoke you if you get in an altercation with one.

How To Pick Up Women Using 5 Easy Tips

Published on April 2, 2007 | Culture
So many have spent many lonely nights wondering why they are alone. They have tried new hair styles, new clothes, even sweated their asses off at the gym in the pursuit of the opposite sex, yet so many of them are unsuccessful. Are they just undesirable? I spent last night on the phone, in person, and on MSN trying to get insight on what makes a guy desirable to the opposite sex. 36 females ranging in age from 18 to 34 gave me their insight on what to do and what not to do when attempting to pursue them, here is what was uncovered.

Male, Female, or Miscellaneous?

Published on March 28, 2007 | Culture
The push towards political correctness has hit another low. The central question about this latest issue hitting university campuses across country is: Which bathroom should I use? According to the March 23, 2007 issue of the National Post, “Washrooms on university campuses across Canada may be the latest frontier in the campaign to accommodate all sexualities.”

Chad's Success Formula

Published on March 26, 2007 | Culture
I have created a formula. It is intense to say the least. I can't believe all the time I have wasted trying to be successful, when the correct way was right in front of my face. I have spent countless hours analyzing situations, be it money, relationships, basically anything, trying to be as successful at them as I could be. Time and time again, I was let down, failed miserably, and just kept on searching for the answer.

Does Instant Messaging Really Keep Us in Touch?

Published on March 20, 2007 | Culture
I have a lot of friends. I am 28 years old, have lived in many different cities and have met many different people along the way. Some have impacted my life in a positive way, some haven't but all in all they are still friends. I try to keep up with what is going on in their lives, but in this fast paced world, sometimes that isn't so easy. I sign in to MSN Messenger and thirty seconds later I have 30 "what's up"s to deal with. In an attempt to keep my sanity, I respond with the generic "nothin u?" to most and that in most likelihood, regardless if they respond or not, is all I ever write. That's the end of the conversation.

Searching for Inspiration

Published on March 16, 2007 | Culture
I have been looking for something lately. Something that will inspire me, fill me with direction. I have been wondering exactly what it is. Is it school? Is it a new career path? Is it time to buy a different house? Is it time to get a different car? I don't know but it is definitely something.

Are we both speaking English?

Published on March 14, 2007 | Culture
Have you ever wondered what goes on in someone's head? Have you ever sat back and thought that sometimes they just must not understand? Has it ever boggled your mind so bad you just felt like never speaking again? I have definitely had these thoughts before.

On Respect

Published on March 8, 2007 | Culture
I have always been a firm believer in respect. The whole aspect of respect or being respectful has seemed, at least to me, to have been forgotten about in this fast paced thing we call life.

The Top 7 Canadian Beer

Published on March 5, 2007 | Culture
Beer has been brewed commercially in Canada since 1688, and has been brewing some of the best beer in the world ever since. Being a devout consumer of the golden goodness, I recently conducted a self-survey of the best beer that Canada has to offer. While some of these products are now owned by non-Canadian companies, they are still viewed as home-grown products by their Canadian consumers.

Should bars have more active competition?

Published on March 2, 2007 | Culture
Some call them bar stars; I refer to them as the dazed and confused. I live in a city of approximately 200,000 people, and I would like to believe that there is more to do in this city than just hit up the same places day in day out.

It's Christmas Time in the City

Published on December 21, 2006 | Culture
We are four days away from Christmas and I'm sure life is hectic for anyone living in an even remotely major center. The malls are packed. The traffic is horrible. Even Tim Horton's is busier than normal, if that's at all possible. Cities around the (Christian) world are abuzz with excitement. People are about to—or already have—take off from work for a few days, and the lucky ones will have an extended holiday to spend time with their friends and family. All the University students that actually went off to school are no doubt at home visiting their families and old friends, and no doubt a bar or two.

I Never Thought About It That Way

Published on December 15, 2006 | Culture
There I was, driving. It was cold and windy—the first accumulative snow fall of the year, a blizzard if you will. I sat in the driver's seat with a smile on my face. You see, I have been longing for the temperature to finally fall, get cold and start snowing for weeks now. I watched the weather channel as if it was the only thing on television. I cringed at the 14 day forecast, which predicted 9 degrees centigrade in late November. I could barely hold back the anger when I heard others commenting on how beautiful it was.

Daylight Saving Time is a Dead Debate

Published on December 14, 2006 | Culture
All right, I’m sick of all of y'all beaking back and forth about Daylight Saving Time (DST) and how it should / shouldn’t be in Saskatchewan. Simply because the way it should be is already in effect. Although the time in our province is very unique, it’s a very simple concept and I will spell it out for you. But first you need to know a little about the history as it applies to us.
