It's time to put an end to Internet Peer Pressure
Ever find yourself being bullied by your so-called friends? Maybe not in person, but on the internet? They do it on instant messengers and in your e-mail inbox. This is happening to millions of Canadians as we speak. And it is very concerning.
It happens when these "friends" bomb your inbox with all sorts of junkmail. Usually with a subject line that says "Freddie has added you to Facebook!!" or "Jason has sent you a friend request on myspace" or some other garbage like that. You know what i'm talking about. It ranges from Hi5, to Facebook, to Myspace, to WAYN, even to that Flixster crap. Once you get in the actual e-mail to check it out, it wants to put you to work right away; Click this link, view profile, sign yourself up. Because if you don't, you can't accept the "friend request", and nowadays that is the biggest diss you can lay down on someone. Aside from sleeping with their wife or girlfriend or whatever. But seriously what happened to the days when you could just check yo mail, do your replies and that's it?
Now if you don't go through all the trouble of setting up a new profile, uploading pictures, accepting the friend requests and all that other bull you will get straight harassed. First they resend the friend requests, then they pester you on your instant messenger. Some of them even e-mail you up saying "Aren't we friends" or "That's not friends". The harassment doesn't stop there, they even break it down on you in person. Well I say that screw that noise! It used to be that friends were determined with a handshake or handslap. Now it's all done with webprofiles and and friend request. Handshakes have turned into profile comments. That doesn't seem very real to me. So don't let these internet suckers push you around. Because real friends holla at you in person, not just from behind computer screens and keyboards.
