The Highway Flashing Game

I don't know what the freaking deal is... maybe it's a thing that happens when you buy a new vehicle. I mean like new, new. I've always been used to these older crappier cars with inferior head lamps and such.

Anyways... we all know how it works when your on the highway at night. You use your brights to see further up the road, but when there is opposing traffic coming you flick off your brights as they pass by. It's a courtesy deal. If the other has forgotten to flick off his brights you usually flash them with your brights briefly to say "Hey! that shit is all bright and shit!". In response they usually flick off their brights, simple right?

Recently I bought a new vehicle (yes, as in new,new) and have to do some night time highway driving. I follow the procedure... to the letter... but for some reason I keep getting flashed at all the time!! I mean I got the freaking brights turned off and these mofos are flashing me to shut them off.

So i'm thinking maybe it's my fog lights? Flick those off, still getting flashed, what's going on here?? I guess it's time to take things into my own hands. Next guy flashes me, I flash back to say "What? you want this shit to get brighter?!". At this point it's turned into a game. I'm now waiting as every vehicle approaches in the darkness, finger on the light stick, ready to see if I gotta flash some mofos.

This is all fine and dandy because it's keeping me awake and somewhat amused, but definitely is taking my attention away from other important shit. Like for instance watching the road, or maybe those deer in the ditch that are wondering what it would feel like to get turned into a smoothy on my grill.

So don't be a highway jerk and flash someone because his headlights look bright. Use your head, it's a dark highway at night with no street lights, of course the headlights will be bright!! And it's not like you popped out of nowhere either (unless your driving around with your lights off), give them the benefit of the doubt. I mean you were able to figure out to flick off your brights too, right?? But if that oncoming car has for some reason ridiculously bright lights, by all means, FLASH THAT MOFO!!
